Thanks for waiting for the comic! My heart and soul CRIED TWICE last night, once for the ice cream shetoonist Beth Hetland and I could not find and then the loss of my flash drive with Mermaid Hostel on it. Serves me right for not uploading it at the studio! (No worries, my friend’s girlfriend found it behind their house, it probably fell out of my pocket during a series of complicated dance moves). Also, I scrapped the comic I had been working on when THIS LITTLE BABY found its way through the postal service from Mermaid Hostel fan, Magnus!
What’s the news? Turned in my thesis, turned in my internship paperwork…My thesis review is Wednesday so we shall see if I pass muster. Plus I have a lot more work to do for all those awesome summer projects which include modding some clothes for commencement which is ONE WEEK from today! My mom is coming up all the way from Texas and sister-in-crime Colleen AF Venable will wind her way from New York! They are making the epic journey as I am the student speaker for the Center for Cartoon Studies commencement (eek!). I open up for Evan Dorkin and am not sweating it. Just need to memorize the speech, create an elaborate Busby Berkeley swim routine for the graduates to perform and we’re done!
